Learning Objective/Description:
This course is intended to provide a variety of important topics related to elder planning. With a growing aging population, it is important for the attendee to understand the special planning needs for this demographic. Elder Planning will cover a broad area that includes health care, long term care, and Medicare planning, as well as special topics such as elder and financial abuse. This course will also spotlight and discuss important but sometimes overlooked documents such as powers of attorney (health and financial) and advanced medical directives. Social Security benefits will be reviewed as well as legacy preservation with life insurance. This course will help the attendee understand how to develop a framework for working with the aging population, as well as help educate them to spot potential problems and identify possible planning opportunities.
