NOTE THE REVISED DATE DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS
December is always a fun meeting. This is when we raffle items to raise funds for The Russell Home for Atypical Children.
The date has changed but we are still meeting at The Azalea Lodge at Mead Gardens, 1300 S Denning Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789.
The Russell Home:
The Russell Home was the first non-profit institution in the country for brain-damaged children. Today you would find quietly hanging in the home a dusty occupational license dated Nov. 13, 1951, when Mrs. Russell opened her home to the first child to “see if it would work out.” Since then, the home has opened its doors to hundreds of youngsters, sometimes after hearing pleas from desperate parents, and in more than one instance, finding them just left on the doorstep.
The physical home consists of a nursery, dormitory wing, playrooms, living room areas, kitchen and large laundry room. The nursery, done up in bright colors with many posters and stuffed animals, is cheerful for the children. However, if your are ever fortunate enough to visit, bring plenty of tissue as you will find before the end of your visit you will not have a dry eye. The love that is in this home, expressed through the eyes, sounds, and smiles from the children will make you count your blessings for the simple things in life.
The Russell Home is also a proud member of the Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies. For more information on this organization, please click here.
NEEDS LIST
The Russell Home always needs supplies for their facilities. Please review this list and bring some items to the meeting. We will collect them and get them delivered to The Russell Home after the meeting.
Click here to see the needs list for The Russell Home.
Please bring items to the meeting that we can raffle off.

This interactive session with Diane and her team will give us a first look at what could be coming, and a head start in what efforts we may need to engage our members to help drive the agenda for the new President and congress.
For over 30 years, Diane Boyle has been the Senior Vice President of Government Relations for NAIFA. Diane advocates for state, interstate, and federal laws that benefit the good of the people. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in political science and government.
