John D. Richardson has been providing sound financial advice for his clients since 2005. The primary focus of John’s financial planning and investment advisory business is helping people align their financial decisions with their values and financial truth, so that they can live their best life.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Spanish from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2015, he earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation through the American College and in 2017 he earned the Life and Annuities Certified Professional (LACP®) designation. John uses these specializations to advise his clients on a variety of financial matters including retirement planning, investment planning, and risk management.
John strongly believes in the importance of protecting the promises he makes his clients as a resource for his clients, and for that reason he is very active in politics at the federal, state, and local levels.
As an active leader with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), John has served in several leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels, which include: 2012 President of NAIFA-Nashville, 2019 State President of NAIFA-Tennessee, three-time moderator of NAIFA’s premier professional and personal development course, Leadership in Life Institute (LILI), volunteer lobbyist who frequently meets with elected state and federal legislators at the state level and annually in Washington D.C., 2020 and 2025 NAIFA Strategic Planning Committees, and 2020-2023 NAIFA Governance Committee.
In 2018, John was the recipient of the NAIFA Young Advisors Team (YAT) Leader of the Year award which recognizes the top financial professional in the nation, based on service to his clients, his community, and his fellow financial professionals.

In 2022, John was elected to a four-year term of office as the State Executive Committeeman for Senate District 21 (Nashville, TN) with the Tennessee Republican Party. In this role, his responsibilities include recruiting successful people in the private sector to run for political office, providing support for their campaigns, and attending quarterly Tennessee GOP state committee meetings.
In 2024, John represented Tennessee Republican voters as an alternate delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, WI and was elected to serve as an alternate elector for Tennessee’s 5th U.S. Congressional District for the 2024 Presidential Election’s electoral college.
John is currently serving as an executive board member and Personal Management merit badge counselor with the Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and is an active member in numerous civic groups in the Nashville, TN area.
John is a natural attractor and connector of people. Prior to his career in the financial services industry, he was a traveling live events promoter and advisor for nationally syndicated talk radio host Dave Ramsey’s company, The Lampo Group (Ramsey Solutions).
The two character-building experiences that John credits most for developing him into the person he is today include the five summers he sold books and Bibles door-to-door with Thomas Nelson Publishers, while he was in college, and the time he invested as a youth in obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
John, his wife Kelly, and their fun-loving rescue dog Piper live in Brentwood, TN. For fun, John and Kelly aka “Team Jolly” enjoy traveling and spending quality time with friends and family. John’s hobbies include playing tabletop strategy board games, attending live comedy events, and taking fun selfie photos with new friends.

Jordan entered the insurance business in 1974 and later became the Vice President of Insurance Sales at PaineWebber before moving to MetLife. Until 2012, he was Senior Vice President – Retail Product Development at MetLife, where he started their fee-based financial planning program and behavioral finance department.
Over the past 11 years, Jordan has become one of the most sought-after speakers in the insurance and financial services industry. He has been the keynote speaker at numerous events, including MDRT Experience, the LIMRA Distribution Conference, The American College Knowledge Summit, the Asian Pacific Life Conference, and numerous NAIFA events. He has spoken in far-ranging locations spanning the globe, including Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the U.K., Italy, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Greece, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Korea, Japan, and Australia.
On a recent episode of NAIFA’s Advisor Today Podcast series, he said, “What I like to talk about is not just the facts and the numbers. It’s about stories. All wisdom comes from specific human experiences. I’m trying to bring that into play so that we communicate better with people and save lives. I did the research and found out everyone dies. … So what better impact could you have if there are people out there who have really benefited as a result of what you do? Not only in death, but now we have this other problem of people living too long.”
His book, Living a Life of Significance, has sold more than 125,000 copies and has been translated into five languages. It chronicles Jordan’s personal journey and 50-year career in the financial services industry.
