NAIFA is proud to recognize Mike LaPorte as the recipient of the Q2 IFAPAC Hard Hat Award, honoring his outstanding commitment to NAIFA’s advocacy mission and his tireless support for the Insurance and Financial Advisors Political Action Committee (IFAPAC).
Mike’s contributions to NAIFA’s advocacy efforts span more than two decades, reflecting his belief in the power of standing united for the profession. Year after year, he has been a steadfast voice for protecting the ability of financial professionals to serve their clients. For Mike, IFAPAC is about more than political engagement—it’s about ensuring lawmakers understand the real-world impact of their decisions on families, businesses, and retirement security.
A veteran of the financial services profession with more than 25 years of experience, Mike is the founder of LaPorte Financial, an independently managed firm built on honesty, integrity, and personalized client service. As an independent financial professional, he values the ability to “write his own story” — creating customized strategies to help clients achieve their goals.
Mike’s NAIFA leadership includes service as past president of NAIFA–Central Florida and past board member of NAIFA Florida. Today, he once again serves on the local board, lending his experience and vision to strengthen NAIFA’s impact.
His advocacy record is equally impressive. Mike has hosted members of Congress in his office, met with numerous elected officials in Central Florida, and regularly attends both Florida Day on the Hill and NAIFA’s Congressional Conference in Washington, D.C. His consistent engagement helps ensure Main Street financial professionals and the clients they serve have a strong, respected voice in public policy discussions.
